@LuFins-Dad said in Childcare Costs More Than College?: For the cost of childcare centers, you can actually have a live in Au Pair. For kids below school age, I suggest checking your local community centers… There are programs at mine with classes of 8 for Finley’s age for around $300 per month Mon-Fri from 9-1… Agree. It’s not exactly daycare but we are putting our 3 year old into a part-week, part-day preschool program. It’s cheap compared to full daycare, and it’s with a church which adds a nice benefit too.

Give you a sideways hint...The movie had a credited actress who starred in multiple films and had two sisters that also worked in vaudeville and in Hollywood.

Fish jokes and romance would seem to be incompatible. But she could likely make me happy with some great smoked salmon and madly expensive caviar.

@Copper said in An Experiment: Just send them into a doctor's office without a mask, during covid season. That should do it. Make sure...Make them take the jab, too!

I've bought a few things from Elderly over the years, the last instrument being an autoharp. Unlike Musician's Friend or other chain stores, they'll set up an instrument before they ship. In the case of the autoharp, it arrived in tune and the pads were correct.

The thing I like about king is I just know I’m going to enjoy the writing no matter what the plot. I felt the same way about Le Carre. When I have long plane trips coming up I always keep a new king ready for download for the trip. For example, I have a trip to Atlanta in March for a conference and I’m waiting for the trip to download his latest, Holly.

In a country where some states are taking kids away from their parents if they refuse to allow transition, and in a world where 50 year old perverts are being allowed to change in dressing rooms with teenage girls and compete with them on a teenage girl’s swimming team, if Ohio is going to make error, I would rather it be in this direction.

Speaking of food... https://x.com/AKBrews/status/1748019921475260627?s=20 https://chicagopizzaandovengrinder.com Conceived by the owner in his Chicago Law Office while Dreaming of “il gran giorno” when he would open his restaurant, the Pizza Pot Pie has become a favorite of world-wide pizza connoisseurs who have graced the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company since its inception in 1972. The Pizza Pot Pie is an individual serving, “made from scratch” with triple-raised Sicilian bread-type dough; a homemade sauce consisting of olive oil, fresh garlic, onions, green peppers, whole plum tomatoes and a special blend of cheeses; sausage made from prime Boston butts; and doorknob-size, whole, fresh mushrooms. (Vegetarian Pizza Pot Pie available.) The Half-Pounder $16.75 / The One-Pounder $33.50 I used to live about 3 blocks from there. Good pizza, but never had the "pot pie."
